Looking for Good, and not Being Critical or Cynical

April 18, 2010 at 5:06 pm (Spiritual) (, )

I remember as a missionary serving in Mexico City how caring and hospital the cultur was, this was one of the first things that I noticed that was different than the American cultur. People that we had just meet would be willing to feed us whatever we wanted. There wasn’t this attitude that you had to earn friendship or earn your right to care for each other.

(Gossip)
For whatever reason I think people are way to cynical and want to think negatively before positivly. It’s crazy to me how when something good, uplifting, or praiseworthy when talked about only gets focused on once in a while, but when someone has something goes wrong or talkes about someones faults that everyones ears seem to chime in and it fuels itself. I’m just as guilty but, I’m going to fix it.

(Negativity)
I promise that what you focus on in life the most is what you get. You see it everyday. For example, when you have a bad day it always seems to get worse and build on itself, if all you worry about is being poor you’ll be poor, if your critical about movies you’ll see less movies you like, and if your like me and you don’t appreciate country music, the worse it gets. The same goes for positivity. The people that are the most sucessful in life focus on that. If you are negative before positive you will have a negative life.

I find it also funny when someone says something nice to you and you take it like they’re not genuin or have intent of being nice. Who cares! Any excuse to be nice is a good one and you should take it as that. If you worry so much about bad intentions you’ll worry less about good ones and having them yourself.

To summerise. Be positive and focus on everything more positivey, then you will have a better life.

Matthew 6:24

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Here are some pics of the updated Jam Room we did.  I know, I know. “Why did you pick orange?”  I saw it on my mission at this kids house that had a jam room with his dad. I thought it was cool.

I think it looks good with the equipment.  It took like 10 coates to paint. And at first I wasn’t sure.   But the finish product looks great!  Thanks to everyone that helped.

Deron Williams, The Best Point Guard In The NBA

Obviously this is a subject that some may argue but I believe is fact. Let’s start this one by comparing him to Steve Nash. Don’t get me wrong Nash is one of the greatest ever but, this season I take Deron over Nash. There are multiple reasons why.   First, head to head the jazz are a better team.  Deron is a bigger scoring threat and can also get you 14 assists.  I’m sorry but Nash can’t do both as well.

Next, I’ll bring up Chris Paul.   Besides the fact that he’s afraid of D-Will and get’s out played every time they go head to head,  he’s weaker and has potential to get injured more.   Sorry but, the hornets won’t make the playoffs and most likely wouldn’t even with a healthy Paul.   If Williams was on the hornets he would have to do more and, no questions asked would do more than Paul.   Where as Paul is maxed out, and we’ve seen about as much as we will from him.

Jason Kidd is too old.

And no one else is even worth mentioning.
